I want publicly apologize to 8bitFetish for not getting this up sooner. With me coaching varsity basketball and the kids I just got behind. Now with basketball over with I have way more free time to make it the store to get frames for these bad boys.
On to the poster! Next up is the black sheep of the SMB family. Super Mario Bros 2. The cover art is easier on the eyes then SMB3 with the blues and yellow letters. Of course 8bitfetish again has outdone themselves with high quality. The blue and yellow pop very nicely. I always thought the "Mario Madness" was sorta odd to put on the cover but pretty much anything and everything to do with SMB2 is pretty odd.
I remember the hype was pretty insane for this game(nothing like 3 though). Kids at school were all bragging they had the game before it even hit the stores. What we got was....well odd.. But not bad.. Just.. Not what we were expecting. Come to find out is pretty much a rip from Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Pani.. So there is that. I spent the whole game not playing as Mario as I always used Princess since she floated. I beat the game twice in my life and never have played it much since. I do enjoy the ending of the game that explains the oddness of it. WARNING 27 YEAR OLD SPOILER A HEAD!!  ITS JUST A DREAM!

IT CAME! IT CAME! I just received one of my favorite box arts of all time from 8bitfetish... OF ALL TIME! Not to mention one of my favorite games of all time. This game is still the the best TMNT game to date. Its a blast from start to finish and you get all the great characters from the cartoon and the movies. What more could a kid want?

But I am not posting this to talk about the game play but the serious greatness of this art and what a job 8bitfetish did with it. There are a lot of colors at play here and they all look beautiful with the dark purples.
Before 8bitfetish I struggled to find a Turtles in the time poster that had the Super Nintendo box border which is a must for me. Its also proportional too. I've seen terrible SNES posters where the border is all out of whack. Everything is perfect here.

Konami did not miss on one TMNT game cover. Anytime they made a game whether it was SNES, Gameboy or Sega it was a masterpiece. These turtles here are filled with detail(muscles) and don't look like your happy Saturday morning type of turtles. Some might say there is to much going on here but it all works together. All the time travel elements have their place here.

The Real Ghostbusters is a amazing show. It might be my favorite childhood show of all time. The first 3 and half to 4 seasons are some of the best stuff you could find in a cartoon at the time. The voice acting was top notch. The story telling dared to dream big and did so. Every Saturday morning I stood in front of my TV pretending with my toy proton pack and following the action.
A few years back Time Life made a complete set of the series. All the season in one awesome fire house box set with bonus interviews, pilot episode and tons more. It was pretty pricey($125) but I think it was worth every penny as my son is now enjoying the show. About mid way through the 4th season it drops off with the writing and voice acting team changing. In the first 3 seasons I can't think of any episodes I don't like. After that its hit or miss. The first season alone is pure gold. There are parts I am sure parents weren't crazy about. It gets pretty scary at times but that is what makes it great. At the end with the Slimer stuff is just pure awful and killed the series by making him the central character. But even with that it should be handed down to new generations of Ghostbuster fans. The great thing is that every episode is on Youtube so you don't have to shell out big money to enjoy these. Comment any episodes you feel I missed on! I love talking about this show.

10.Something is going around-Season 4
Peter is sick and Louis finds a doctor. It turns out the Doctor is a ghost and gives the Ghostbusters these "healthy" chips that really make them allergic to ghosts. I enjoyed this one as a kid since the Ghostbusters get all gross looking since their bodies physically react to ghosts. One of the few good post season 3 episodes  Full Episode Here

9.Flip Side-Season 4
I always found this one just fun. The Ghostbusters end up in another dimension where this New York and populated by Ghosts and people are busted. So who are you going call? Well Peoplebusters of course! I always wished that Kenner put out these Peoplebusters but never did. Full Episode Here

8.Mrs.Rogers Neighborhood-Season 1
This this one is full of creep as the Ghostbusters are called to help poor Mrs.Rogers with Ghost in house. They of course let her stay at the firehouse while they do the job. Come to find out she is really a Demon and takes over Peters body and tries to open the containment unit. Between Peter being creepy as hell and the plot this makes for a awesome episode that sets the tone for the rest of the season. Full Episode Here

7.Mr.Sandman Dream Me a Dream-Season 1
The sandman thinks the world might stop fighting its self if takes a 500 year old nap. Its a bit of wacky episode but I think the Sandman character is great with amazing voice work. Again Kenner where was this toy?!?! This one features Winston as the main Ghostbuster which is a good change.

6.When Halloween was Forever-Season 1
A great Halloween Episode! Their is some ancient ruins that are brought to New York and it contains the spirit of  Samhain who is a spooky pumpkin looking dude(Kenner??) who want Halloween to last forever which is isn't the worst idea I have ever heard. Full Episode Here

5.Slimer Come Home-Season 1
I don't care for Slimer centered episodes so much but this one always scared me because I thought the lead poltergeist ghost was a giant creep. He would open his coat up and showing off his belly... Just seemed odd. Slimer screws up Winston's B-day party and Peter lets him have it which leads him to leaving which I say 'Great!". Maybe if he would have stayed gone we would never get Silmer taking over the show in the later seasons. Full Episode Here

4.Take Two-Season 1
This one is a neat episode as the Ghostbusters are called to the set of the Ghostbusters movie being made. There is a ghost that is causing problems and the gang fly out to Hollywood. They even mention the cast from the movie and show scenes from the movie at the end which is pretty cool as a kid. You gotta love how the movie and this show work together. Full Episode Here

3.The Boogieman Cometh-Season 1
Who wasn't afraid of the Boogieman in their closet as a kid? He is a pretty scary character and used to have me checking my closet for him as a kid. Again Kenner drops the ball and never made a toy of him. The Ghostbuster go after the Boogieman in his nightmare world and has them running through different bedrooms. Wonder if Monsters Inc came from this episode? Egon remembers the Boogieman from his childhood so wants to put a stop to it. The Boogieman isn't even a ghost which leads to a issue. There is this one part where Winston shoots the Boogieman through the window outside which is pretty dangerous.If he kills the kids... yeesh... Bad PR.  Full Episode Here

2.Citizen Ghost-Season 1
This is a amazing episode. If I didn't feel my number 1 was so epic and intense this would easily be number 1. As a kid this was my favorite(again Kenner?? where are the ghost Ghostbusters?). You get a great flash back story on the events hours and days after the Gozer show down. You even get to see the guys in their old brown flight suits and how the colored ones came into the picture. It also ties Slimer and his story to the Ghostbusters of how joined them. Again, the way this cartoon uses the movie is fantastic. Grabbing from the movie just makes it legit in a kids mind.
The problem starts as the guys return from heir fight with Gozer and Peter and given the task to dispose of the flight suits that have Stay puff all over them. Peter gets lazy and leaves them in a box in the basement. The suits then fill themselves with the Spectral Ghostbusters who want to kill and replace the Ghostbusters. The Spectral Ghostbusters are aggressive and out for blood. The Ghostbusters spend most the episode dodging proton pack fire. Its a must watch for any Ghostbuster fan(you younger fans for sure) Full Episode Here

1.Knock Knock-Season 2
Knock Knock could easily be a full length movie. Its better than Ghostbuster 2. A construction worker is working on the subway and stumbles onto the door way to hell. Its isn't suppose to open until the end of the world. Well it opens and all the evil from hell is unleashed on New York. There is great creepy moments with a rowing boat of dead people, a dead subway trip and a spooky talking tree.
Where it really turns up is in the end where the Ghostbusters have to shut the door. It is intense scene where they are basically going to die shutting this thing and acknowledge that. The voice acting is phenomenal and the shots of the proton packs over heating and the PKE going crazy add to the moment. Egon leads the Ghostbusters into the door stressing that this could be it. The build up and moment are pretty intense for a kids show. It even has great lines of detail as Egon barks out commands on what setting the proton packs should be(WIDE ANGEL!). Its just epic...

Random Movie Thoughts

Just watched Pee-Wees Big Top(Dyslexic mistake found while proofing..keeping it) on Netflix. Loved it as a kid, thought it was up there with Big Adventure. After watching it as a adult I can say in fact its no where close to Big Adventure and its sorta creepy. The fact that Reuben wrote and produced this thing makes it even creepier. The movie was a total bust. It cost 20 million to make and only brought in 15 million.

-The first 15 mins is very classic Pee-Wee. Making the animals pancake. All the farm animals eating breakfast at the table. Riding a tractor for like 10 seconds while singing Pee-Wee had a farm.

-Creepy part 1. Lunch with Winnie! Well its going pretty funny(egg salad on the face). He then does the hair combing thing along with jumping on top of Whinne where she has to push him stating the "Children.. THE CHILDREN!". I know Pee-wee has been know to slide in adult jokes in his tv show and what not but this isn't even trying to hide anything. Its screams I JUST WANT SOME!

-Towns People are pretty funny. Loved the cheese sandwich part. I in fact started to eat them because of this movie. I'M STARVING! PLEASE!
-I enjoy Vance the Pig. Again very Pee-Wee.

-Had no idea Benicio del Toro was Duke the dog face,

-Creepy part 2. The kissing scene with Gina goes on forever, Like it turns into a softcore film it goes so long. The setting is just odd too. Goes from a farm setting to a jungle with a water fall. You know Reuben wrote this in. A make out scene that lasts 1:35 mins(yes I timed it). It feels so awkward. I bet the theater experience with it was just terrible. I mean all these parents and kids sitting through a softi. Had no reason to be in there and pretty uncalled for.

-Biffed line by Mace. They didn't even bother to try another take. "That's right Showball.. Snowball".

-Piccolapupula brothers sharing Winne? Also pretty odd. They hint at some sort of odd wife sharing thing. Gross.
-Classic Pee-Wee when he shrinks everyone into children.

-Creepy part 3 when Gina and him have sex and by have sex they show women mud wrestling and explosions. Why does Pee-Wee need to have sex in a movie about a farm that is aimed at kids??!?!?! What were they thinking??!?

-More mistakes: They slow down the film when Vance is singing during the circus show. Like they didn't get enough of a shot to fill his lines or something.

This is just an odd movie with Reubon writing in long kissing scenes to creep out parents and confuse kids. Why does Pee-Wee need to do all this grown up stuff like cheating on girl friends? Just stick to talking to pigs,growing large tomatoes and walking on tight ropes with cows. This is his worst stuff without a doubt. Stick to the playhouse and Big Adventure.

My Knight Rider NES poster came from 8bitfetish! It came! It came! It really is in my opinion one the best Knight Rider images there is and it came from the NES cover art. 8bitfetish really out did there selves here. The deep reds look great! The yellow pops! I remember when I was a kid I was so excited when I saw the Knight Rider game at the store. I begged my mom for it but she wouldn't have it. So I know I was waiting for Christmas or birthday which was a long way off. I was lucky enough that my uncle rented and we played it one night and I was so pumped. I couldn't believe I was about to play my favorite TV in a video game.... Well that where the excitement started and ended as it was just terrible from the start. It was great seeing Kitt in 8 bit form but outside of that the game is impossible. I haven't played it in some time so I can't recall a whole lot but I remember enjoying the turbo boosting but Kitt has rockets I think? Every car was an enemy running you off the road. It just wasn't fun.
Even though the game sucked I always got that warm fuzzy Knight Rider feeling when ever I saw the cover art. It just kicks ass and now looks great on my wall. I already have gotten complements on it during our Christmas party. Now I did get a few question on Twitter about the posters and got some answers.

Q: Why 13 x 19 sized poster?
A: 13x19 is a pretty good natural fit for the most part. It's also bigger than 17x11. And it's not too big or too small. Can fit a good amount on your walls. You really can't do that with 32x24. 


The next poster comes in Jan and its features four heroes in a half shell who made my top 10 SNES covers. Like Bart Scott once said, "CAN'T WAIT!"

A few months ago I decided I needed to track down some NES cover art for my "me room"(Still no pictures..I know) and looked at some auctions on Ebay. I thought some had some pretty crappy looking quality. I found 8bitfetish which had a huge selection. The quality looked way better than the other options. They even have some classic video game scenes! I can't wait to see what more scenes they decide to push out. I decided to take the plunge and ordered the original Super Mario Bros and TMNT II The Arcade Game.

Got my order in a few days. The posters were a 13 x 19 and were full of 8 bits of awesomeness. Great colors,great quality poster and didn't break the bank($11.99+Free shipping). I am huge sucker for Nintendo box art from the NES and SNES days and I couldn't wait to get more.
The other day I was thinking I needed a NES Knight Rider poster to complement my Knight Rider display and I thought why not ask 8bitfetish to be my Friend?!?!? When I was a kid I watched a lot of stuff I can't believe my parents(my mom) allowed me to watch. It was just a different time I guess. Parents weren't scared to death that a 2 hour Robocop movie was going to turn their child into some cop killer because they knew they were teaching them good morals outside of those 2 hours..... Still I'm not letting my kids watch half this stuff for a long time.

10.Critters

I watched this at my uncles. I was scared and hid my face most the time. I was like 7. Never seen it since.

9.Police Academy
Some adult jokes, maybe a nipple. I rented all 6 at the time. I even had the toys. Was pretty into these movies for a few months.

8.Naked Gun
Watched this at my aunts for the first time, Thought it was hilarious as a 8 year old. Should I have been watching it? I don't think so. Now that I watch it though, I pick up all the adult jokes I didn't even get or laugh at when I was younger.

7.Beetlejuice
Yes it PG, but has the word fuck and and is creepy as hell. Used to close my eyes when he turns into the snake. I can't believe its PG... I also enjoyed the toys and cartoon. Michael Keton is pretty awesome here.

6.Total Recall
Man when Arnold's eyes pop out of his head while on Mars.. I remember the trailer pretty good because it looked so crazy and the x-ray scene. Again I saw it at my uncles. Three boobs and all. I was closing my eyes half the time. I still love asking my wife in my Arnold voice "Want to go to Mars?". This movie has really grown on me as I have gotten older.

5.Terminator 2
Talk about a big deal in 1991. It was all anyone was talking about. The action,the special effects and the make up. Its a great movie. Maybe the best action movie ever. I had the toys, saw it in the theater with my mom. Why did she think it was ok? Who knows but god bless her. It was like my brothers favorite movie when he was 6..

4.Stand By Me
A great movie but also a intense one. For parents its a sneak peek inside how their 13 year old boy is really acting when they aren't around. Each kid is weighted down by their own issues and are trying to discover who they are. Lots of f words and of course a dead kid by the train tracks. Not even sure where I first saw it but I always thought of it as a edgier Goonies.

3.Robocop 2
Not a good movie but violent as hell. I remember being pretty excited for since the 1st one was so great. It just didnt have that great balance of humor and action like the first one and its pretty crazy with the kid shooting people,dropping f words and the dude who gets cut open by a surgeon.

2.Hoffa 
Saw this one time at my grandparents. Have no idea why they let me watch it. There was a F-word after every noun and tons of murders. After it my grandma says "now that movie had nasty words you know not to say those".

1.Robocop
Ahh the rated R movie of my youth. It had a toy line,TV show, cartoon later on and was a huge commercial success. How could kids not see this thing? It was a rated R movie aimed at kids. I had almost all the toys. Don't think that was the plan when it was released but its what happened. Kids all over America were watching Murphy getting his limbs blown off and watching the dad from that 70s show get a fist sword thing stabbed in his neck. In my mind there was nothing wrong with all this. Times have changed...
